Biography

Matthew is an experienced consultant who works against inequity, with an outlook that many parts make a whole. Being only a small part in a community of people of multiple nations, cultures, generations, experience, and circumstance working towards the betterment of everyone.

Matthew is a Gumbaynggirr/Dhungutti person with both personal and familial connections across NSW. Matthew boasts a vast and varied career working in community with people of every age, experience, and circumstance.

Being driven towards equality with an experience across multiple sectors, Matthew has a unique talent of being able to constructively establish meaningful relationships and works hard to achieve positive outcomes. Matthew is hard working and goal orientated, easily able to take on anything from large projects to smaller tasks.

Matthew has been working on projects for Murawin since 2018, both on contract and as an independent consultant.

Working in research and development, as well as community engagement, Matthew has the skills to follow programs from inception through to completion. Gathering necessary information to obtain genuine, and sometimes raw readings on any given situation or environment and applying them where they are most needed. This information is gathered straight from the source by genuinely engaging the community, as well as navigating relationships and partnerships.

Within Murawin, Matthew has worked across municipal councils, Government entities, educational institutions and private corporations, consulting and with people of all ages on a number of different projects.

Matthew has had many roles in both community and private sectors, across multiple streams including construction, health, and education. Within these roles he has had to shoulder many responsibilities, each with their own unique set of challenges and has had the opportunity to gain a wide breadth of experience. The roles included:

Qualifications

  • Certificate II (2008) and III (2013) in Electrotechnology, Gymea Tafe
  • Ausgrid Entry Program, Petersham Tafe and the Ausgrid Training Facility (2010)
  • Certificate III in Educational Support (2019), OTEN Online Tafe
  • Mentoring Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander People (2020), Eora Tafe
  • Certificate III in Community Services, OTEN Online Tafe
  • Currently completing the Bachelor level of study into Policing, University of Western Sydney
